Axonic – Measurement of Overhead Lines and Structures
Latest update: See what’s new in Axonic v2.28.6.
Axonic is a cloud-based mobile and desktop system designed to support the measurement, analysis and structured data collection of overhead lines and pole structures. It enables engineering-grade field measurement and asset management workflows across electricity distribution networks.
The system is available on Android, iOS and Windows PC with synchronised cloud data management.
Field Measurement and Geometry Capture
Axonic enables in-field capture of overhead line and pole structure geometry, including:
- Conductor diameter measurement for identification
- Conductor sag and tension measurement
- Ground clearance assessment
- Span length and orientation measurement
- Controlling span identification
- Line angle and turn-off angle measurement
- Catenary geometry capture
- Pole height and embedment measurement
- Pole lean and deflection measurement
- Mid-span and equipment height measurement
- Attachment load measurement
Structural Analysis and Engineering Assessment
Measured field data is structured for direct use in structural modelling and load assessment workflows.
- Single pole load analysis
- Wind loading scenario inputs
- Span geometry modelling
- Load redistribution analysis
- Structure utilisation assessment
Axonic replaces assumed inputs with measured values, supporting defensible engineering decisions aligned with NZ and international standards.
Asset and Joint Use Data Collection
- In-field capture of pole structures, attachments, fibre and conductors
- Joint use audits aligned with OJUA guidance
- Pole condition assessment observations
- Failure observations
- Defect observations
Forms are prebuilt to align with electricity industry conventions, including compatibility with the NZ EEA Wood Pole Condition Assessment Guide.
Structured Data and Quality Assurance
- Built-in quality assurance workflows
- Structured feedback mechanisms for field users
- Data structured for asset management analysis
- Integration and data export options
- Support for benchmarking and cross-utility meta-analysis
Platform and Deployment
- Cloud-based synchronised data management
- Android mobile application
- iOS mobile application
- Windows PC application
